Casualty Assistance Center where our mission is to provide quality service to the families of fallen Soldiers and retirees.
The Army's Casualty Operations programs include casualty reporting, notification to Next of Kin (NOK), funeral honors assistance for Soldiers, retirees and veterans, and casualty assistance. Fort Benning AG operates a Casualty Area Command servicing 70 counties in Georgia and 11 counties in Alabama.
Casualty Operations support is available seven days per week and 24 hours per day. Upon receipt of information about a death of an eligible Soldier, the Casualty Office will notify HRC via the casualty reporting system. For Soldiers serving on active duty, Fort Benning Casualty will coordinate notification to Next of Kin located in our Casualty Area Command area. Upon completion of notification, a Casualty Assistance Officer (CAO) will be appointed to assist the eligible NOK with funeral honors and benefits processing. Families, funeral homes, or other agencies can report a death or request assistance by contacting the Fort Benning AG Casualty Office at (706) 545-4116/ 4606 during duty hours (Monday – Friday, 0800-1600. Closed for lunch from 1200 - 1300 Monday - Friday). During off-duty hours, weekends and holidays, contact the Fort Benning Staff Duty Officer at (706) 545-2218/6814. The Army's Families First Casualty Call center can be reached at 1-866-272-5841.
