Employment Documentation

To prepare for your employment search, hand-carry the following important documents with you rather than including them in your household goods shipment:

• Resume(s)
• Transcripts
• Licenses/Certifications
• SF-50 (if prior federal employee)
• Most recent civilian pay stub
• Sponsor's PCS orders
• Marriage Certificate
• List of references with contact information
• Letters of recommendation
• The most recent performance appraisal
• DD 214 (if prior military)
• SF 15 (Required for Disabled Veteran Status)
• VA Disability Letter
• Any other employment-pertinent documents

Suppose you are a foreign-born spouse with education transcripts in a language other than English. In that case, it is advisable to contact Military OneSource at 800-342-9647 for information on translating the document(s) to English.

Employment Readiness Program

The Employment Readiness Program (ERP) offers resources to help with your career plan and job search. Our office proudly offers assistance to all Department of Defense ID Card Holders, to include: Military Spouses, Retirees, Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, DoD Civilians, Active Reserve, National Guard, and Wounded Warriors.

Our services include:

• Up-to-date information on local, national, and international employment opportunities, job market trends and education, and volunteer resources
• Classes on career exploration, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and networking.
• Résumé critiques
• Career counseling and individual career assessments
• Information on Job fairs and other hiring events

My Career Advancement Account Scholarship

The MyCAA is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance to eligible military spouses for the pursuit or maintenance (including continuing education courses) of a license, certification, or associate's degree necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field.

Spouses and children of active and retired Soldiers are eligible for educational scholarship programs.
