Naval Support Facility Dahlgren, Va., was initially established in 1918 on 4,000 acres bounded by the Potomac River and Machodoc Creek in King George County. What began as a gun test facility has since evolved and expanded to include numerous scientific and response-force missions serving all branches of the United States armed forces.
Facilities:
Our Dahlgren Facility opened on July 29, 2010! Troops and families can stop by and watch a movie, read a book, play video game or use our Wi-fi or computer lab. In addition, this center features a fully functioning kitchen with snacks and refreshements for its patrons. For our Little Patriots, Dahlgren USO Center has a Sesame Street Room. The Sesame Room project is an exciting extension of Sesame Workshop’s ongoing Talk, Listen, Connect program for military families. Come by and play...in our fun-filled Seaseme Street Playroom.
Weekly Events:
Every Tuesday: Little Patriots Playgroup, 10am - 11am. All children under 5 years of age ae invited to come play, socialize, do crafts and interact with other children. Snacks and drinks are provided.
Every Tuesday: Free Bread and Baked Goods Giveaway, 11am - 1pm. Thanks to a generous weekly donation from Walmart, we have lots of Bread, cakes, pies, cookies, muffins and more. Open to all Active Duty Military personnel and their families, this is a great way to add to your weekly groceries. Always differnt....always good!
