Child Development Centers: Picatinny Child Development Center provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Program include full day, hourly care and part day pre-school. Phone: 973-724-4337. Family Child Care provides care for children from infants to school age in on-post homes.

Schools: None on post. All residents of Picatinny Arsenal will attend the Rockaway Township Public School District for grades K-8 and Morris Hills Regional School District for 9-12. Busing is provided to each school.

Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions

The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by worldwide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. The operator can be reached at commercial (719) 567-1110.
