Ansbach American Middle/High School (AMHS) opened its doors in 1973. AMHS is a Department of Defense Dependent School (DoDDS), which is a part of the Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA). It is located 25 miles southwest of Nurnberg in Northern Bavaria. Our school is part of the Bavarian School District and has a population of 260 students in grades six through twelve. Our school year consists of two semesters, each of which is eighteen weeks in length.
AMHS and DoDEA are committed to ensuring that all school-aged children of military families are provided a world-class education that prepares them for postsecondary education and/or career success and to be leading contributors in their communities as well as in our 21st century globalized society.
