Check-In/Out
Check-in will be at the ITT/Beach Cottage Office in building 1797, White Plains Road located at the Barbers Point White Plains Beach. The sponsor must present their military id at check-in.

Check-in time: Daily 2:30 pm – 6 pm. & Holidays 2pm – 4pm. We cannot accommodate any check-ins after these hours.

Check out time is 10:30 a.m. at all cottages. Upon your departure we ask your cooperation in leaving the cottages as clean as possible by washing and storing all dishes, sweeping floors, removing all linens and placing them on the beds, wet towels are to be placed on the bathroom floor. Empty all trash and place it in the outside receptacles provided.

Warning! Cottage keys will deprogram on the day of check–out. We will not be held responsible for any cause or possible damage to personnel items. Should it be necessary the following charges will be applied to your bill:

  • $5 for cottage key replacement
  • $25 for gate key replacement
  • $15 per half hour for cottages left in an unsatisfactory condition, or late check-out. Replacement cost for any items damaged due to abuse or loss.
  • $100 fine per day for pets.

Payment
Accepted forms of payment are personal check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Any reservations made less than 45 days in advance will be charged 50% of the total amount, which is non-refundable.

The guest will be informed the card is being charged AT THIS TIME. Payment is due in full for all reservations, upon check-in at the ITT Office. Any refunds that may be issued will be credited to the charge card or in a check mailed by the MWR accounting office. A security deposit is not required, however, failure to abide by the Beach Cottages Occupancy Standards may result in eviction by MWR Management or a designated representative. A refund will not be provided if this occurs.

Cottage Hopping
Please see the standard procedure for check-in and check-out. NO EARLY CHECK-INS will be allowed.

Use Policy
All of our cottages are funded on a self-sufficiency basis and every effort must be made to keep expenses at acceptable levels. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in keeping the facilities in a clean and safe condition to ensure a pleasant stay for you and your family, as well as for others that will follow. Please help us by adhering
to the following policies:

The MWR cottages are intended for family use and are not authorized for use as a party facility.
Parking is limited at the cottages. Limit 2 vehicle permits per cottage. All other guests must use visitor parking. Visitors’ parking is located adjacent to the cottages.
Cottage use is intended for sponsors and their family guests only. “Subletting” to other persons is not authorized. Persons not listed on your guest list are required to vacate the cottage by 10:00 pm Monday – Thursday and by 12:00 am Friday – Sunday and Holidays. Out of respect to neighbors, we ask that loud noise and boisterous activities be discontinued by 10:00 pm nightly

Who Can Rent?
The cottages are available for daily rental by authorized patrons. Authorized patrons include:

  • Active duty military to include foreign services and Coast Guard.
  • Retired military
  • Members of Reserve components
  • Other military separated from the Armed Forces and their family members to include EX-POW, Medal of Honor recipients, honorably discharged veterans with 100% service-connected disability, involuntarily separated service members under the Transition Assistance Management Program, voluntary separation under the Voluntary Separation Incentive (VSI) and Special Separation Benefit (SSB) Programs for two years after separation.
  • Family members to include spouse and children (21 yrs. or older) of those eligible patrons in categories (a) through (d)
  • Department of Defense (DOD) Civilians and MWR/NEX/AAFES NAF employees, active or retired.
  • Accompanied guests of all authorized patrons.


Reservation Requirements
Reservations are made by contacting the ITT Office at (808) 682-3085. The reservation requirements and categories for eligible patrons are as follows:

Category 1: Includes Active Duty Navy and their family members residing in Hawaii. Reservations may be made up to six (6) months in advance.
Category 2: Includes Active Duty Navy (outside of Hawaii), Marine, and Coast Guard personnel and their family members. Reservations may be made up to five (5) months in advance.
Category 3: Includes active-duty members of other services, reservists, retirees, EX-POW, and Medal of Honor recipients and their family members. Reservations may be made up to four (4) months in advance.
Category 4: Includes Navy DOD civilian, MWR/NEX NAF employee, active or retired. Reservations may be made up to three (3) months in advance.
Category 5: Includes other service DOD civilians, AAFES employees, active or retired. Reservations may be made up to two (2) months in advance.

Cottages
The Beach Cottage Rental Program includes 24 cottages located at White Plains Beach, Nimitz Beach, and Nimitz Cove, on the island of Oahu.

White Plains Duplex:
(4) Two-bedroom/one-bath units
(2) Two-bedroom/one-bath units washer/dryer (no linen/towel exchange)

Nimitz Beach Duplex:
(8) Two-bedroom/one-bath units washer/dryer (no linen/towel exchange)
(2) One-bedroom/one-bath (handicap accessible)

White Plains Cedar: a
(1) Two-bedroom/two bath. Washer/dryer (no linen/towel exchange)

Nimitz Cove Duplex:
(4) Two-bedroom/one bath. Washer/dryer (no linen/towel exchange)

White Plains Homes:
(2) Three-bedroom/two bath. Washer/dryer (no linen/towel exchange)

Nimitz Cove Cedar:
(1) Two-bedroom/two bath. Washer/dryer (no linen/towel exchange

 

THE COTTAGES MAY NOT BE USED AS A PARTY FACILITY.

Should a National Disaster be declared during your stay each one of our cottages has been furnished with an emergency kit. If the kit is tampered with, without a National Evacuation, the customer will incur a penalty fee of $200.00 upon checkout.

Confirm a Reservation
To confirm a reservation, a credit card deposit of 50% will be assessed. If confirming the reservation by check or cash, it must be received in our office at the time of booking. This 50% deposit will be applied to the total amount due. Cancellation more than 45 days before the reservation will result in a 100% refund to the guest. NO REFUNDS will be issued if cancellation/modification is within 45 days of reservation. The MWR Director will review special circumstances for possible exceptions to this policy.

Customers will be charged a $50 service fee for after-hour assistance to unlock your cottage.

Daily rates are established and reviewed on an annual basis. Special rate promotions and requests will be reviewed by the MWR Director for approval.

Length of Stay
The minimum stay is two to 2 days and the maximum stay is two weeks, but maybe extended based on availability upon check-in. There is a maximum of six (6) people per 2-bedroom unit.

Pets
Pets are prohibited inside, outside, and within the vicinity of the beach cottages. A $200 fine per day will be assessed if pets are found.

Pest Control
We are aggressive on pest control and every attempt has been made to eliminate ants, mosquitoes, and termites, however, you may be exposed to insects during your stay. Summer months can be particularly bad, and it is not uncommon for termites to swarm. We hope that you will understand these circumstances, which, unfortunately, cannot be avoided.

Who can stay in NGIS?

NGIS facilities are for authorized military travelers, DoD civilians, and contractors on official travel orders to Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam (JBPHH). Active duty military and their dependents on leave, along with retirees may stay on a space-available basis.

Making Reservations

All military travelers on orders, destined to JBPHH, should contact NGIS for reservations as soon as their travel dates are known. Individual travelers may log-in to the link below to make on-line reservations or should call 1-877-NAVYBED (628-9233). The local reservations office number for group reservations is (808) 448-5888.

For Navy-funded travel, the official Navy’s travel policy requires personnel to obtain all travel arrangements through their local servicing Commercial Travel Office (CTO) whenever possible. If a traveler only requires NGIS reservations (no commercial air needed), please call SATO’s Navy Central Housing Reservations Desk at 1-800-576-9327.

Reservists not supported by a local Commercial Travel Office should call the SATO desk in New Orleans at 1-800-576-9327 during normal business hours.

For commercial travel emergencies, please contact SATO at 1-800-359-9999.

For other travelers, such as contractors on Invitational Travel Orders (ITO), Non-appropriated Fund personnel, and official travelers from other services, please call local our reservations office at (808)448-5888.

Travel Space Available

Military travelers not on official orders (including retirees) may be lodged on a space-available basis. Reservation requests for Space “A” travelers are being accepted 14 days prior to arrival for a maximum of 7 days, provided space is available. The reservation may be extended for one additional week if subsequent occupancy projections allow.

ADA Rooms

Several of our facilities offer rooms which meet requirements of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please ensure special needs are identified when making reservations.

Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA)
If on-base lodging is unavailable, secure a non-availability letter from the NGIS prior to making a reservation at TLA approved hotel. Click here for a list of TLA approved hotels. Be sure to confirm the maximum daily amount allowed for TLA prior to booking a hotel. TLA rates are based upon the member’s status, single/married, and number/age of dependents. Dependents must be command sponsored to receive TLA entitlements.

NGIS has a limited number of rooms for families and also some “pet-friendly” rooms. Contact NGIS Royal Alaka`i, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam at (808) 448-5400 or DSN (315) 448-5400 for availability and reservations.

Amenities

All NGIS facilities offer TV’s, microwaves, coffee service, cable, and a convenient location.

Eligibility

Arts & Crafts Center- JB Pearl Harbor- Hickam

The JBPHH MWR Arts and Crafts Center provide off-duty leisure time activities for active-duty military personnel, dependents, DOD personnel, retirees, their dependents, and guests.  It provides complete arts and crafts development and service facilities, including industrial arts, fine arts, and hobby crafts.  Our program supports family cohesion, builds self-esteem and self-reliance, and provides alternative leisure time activities, which develop the individual’s creative skills. Always focused on safety, customer service, customer value, customer self-expression, and personal development.

What We Do

– Offer professional framing, engraving, ceramics, pottery, and woodworking services
– Conduct a variety of art and craft instructional classes for both adults and youth. See class schedule for details

Navy Housing Service Center – JB Pearl Harbor- Hickam

Family housing services are provided by a Navy Region Hawaii Housing Service Center (HSC) that provides government-related entitlements, to include Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) and Temporary Loaner Furniture. All of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam’s (JBPHH) family housing is privatized and the HSC provides government oversight of the two privatized housing projects. Another term for privatized housing is Public-Private Venture (PPV) housing.

One of the PPV housing projects provides priority housing to Navy personnel and is managed by Ohana Military Communities – Navy (OMC). The HSC staff that services Navy personnel and oversees this Navy project is located at 4825 Bougainville Drive, Honolulu, Hawaii, DSN (315) 474-1820/1821 or commercial (808) 474-1820/1821. OMC’s leasing agents are co-located with this HSC staff to provide convenient one-stop service to sailors and their families. This HSC staff offers Homeport Change Briefings and Group orientations.

The other PPV housing project provides priority housing to Air Force personnel and is managed by Hickam Communities, LLC (HC). The Housing Management Office (HMO) staff that services Air Force personnel and oversees this Air Force project is located at 200 Kokomalei St, Honolulu, Hawaii, DSN (315) 448-6887/0856 or commercial (808) 448-6887/0856. HC’s leasing agents are co-located with this HMO staff to provide a convenient one-stop service to Air Force members and their families.
