Camp Talega is based north on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. This camp is the only section not a part of San Diego County. The camp’s nickname used to be ‘Tent Camp 3 ½.’ Ever since 1958, This camp commenced out as a tent camp when the Base was first occupied by the Marine Corps but over the years, the Quonset Huts were integrated into the camp. Camp Talega was an essential part in helping the Vietnamese resettlement camps by feeding, clothing, and housing in 1975.
