The A&FRC is part of the 27th Special Operation Force Support Squadron/Airman and Family Services Flight (27SOFSS/FSF).  Our operational concept is to provide targeted law- and mission-driven services to Commanders and assist them in developing and executing policies, programs and processes to enhance individual, family and community readiness, resiliency, quality of life and motivation to serve.  Our center serves all Wing active duty and civilian, tenant units, TDY and retired personnel assigned to or visiting Cannon AFB, NM.  The A&FRC staff members are a critical part of the Cannon Resiliency Team which includes other base helping agencies (Mental Health, Family Advocacy, Medical EFMP, Chapel, FSS agencies, Health and Wellness, EO etc), Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) resources and Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLC).  Due to being a Special Operations base, additional resources are funded by SOCOM above and beyond traditional AF support.  This is greatly beneficial, since Cannon is considered to be a CONUS remote and isolated base.  These additional resources are truly essential due to being surrounded by smaller communities that have limited overall resources, thus being seen as a more similar as an overseas base.  Cannon AFB is often viewed as being more like an overseas location, in which, the community turns toward the base as support vs. turning toward to the local towns outside of the base. Another unique aspect of Cannon as a SOCOM base is they work very closely with all military services.  As they grow, this will also become an important factor in their overall operations. With this comes a tagline of "Support for the Total Force".
