Sarushima (猿島 Saru-shima?, meaning “Monkey Island” in the Japanese language), is a small island located off Yokosuka, Kanagawa in Japan. It is the only natural island in Tokyo Bay. Sarushima was used as a battery by the Tokugawa shogunate during the Edo period, and after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the island was developed as the Yokosuka Navy Yard.[1][2] Matthew C. Perry named the island Perry Island in 1853.[3]

Hakone (箱根町 Hakone-machi?) is a town in Ashigarashimo District in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As of June 2012, the town had an estimated population of 13,492 and a population density of 145 persons per km². The total area was 92.82 km². Hakone has been designated as a Geopark by UNESCO.
