Turning into an FLT in August 2021. Comprehensive dental care is provided for all active duty military personnel assigned to Scott Air Force Base.

Dental Sick Call

Dental sick call is managed on an appointment basis. Periodic dental examinations are scheduled for active duty members through their unit health monitor. Follow-up appointments are made at the time of the periodic dental exam appointment or by calling the Dental Clinic.

Dental Emergencies

Treatment for dental emergencies, such as acute swelling, active bleeding, severe uncontrolled pain, or trauma, during other than normal duty hours, can be accessed by calling us at 618-256-6667.

Dental Options Outside of Military Dental Clinics

For dental care outside of a military dental clinic, TRICARE offers dental coverage for service members, families, and survivors. Additionally, retired service members, their families, and certain survivors may qualify to purchase dental coverage through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program. Dental Care for Non-Active Duty Beneficiaries

Dental care for non-active duty personnel is extremely limited.

• Family members of active duty service members are strongly encouraged to enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program.
• Retirees and their family members are eligible to purchase a dental plan through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program.
