Eglin AFB - Ambulatory Surgery

Eglin performs large numbers of scheduled surgeries and procedures on an outpatient basis, thus avoiding overnight hospital stays. As technology provides advanced capabilities, the capability for outpatient procedures continues to grow. Your doctor and the type of surgery will determine whether same-day surgery is an option in your plan of care. If you are scheduled for same-day surgery, you will be given a pre-admission appointment. At this time, you will be oriented to location of same-day surgery unit with specific instructions about your surgery and recovery. Once your surgery and recovery is completed, your doctor and recovery team will determine if it is safe to discharge you to go home. At times, a patient may be required to stay overnight in the hospital, for the patient's safety. This is dependent upon a patient's post-operative condition and the doctor's evaluation.

Hours:

• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
• Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., for routine vaccinations
• Tuesday, 7 to 9 a.m., for smallpox vaccination
• First Wednesday of every month, 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
