Kitahama Onsen Thermos is a hot spring in Beepu. Termas which means Bath in Latin is a large hot spring facility opened in Oct 1998 where you can enjoy various types of baths, such as Steam Bath, Sauna, Open-air Bath, Waterfall Shower, and Pail Shower. Compared with the other hot springs of Beppu it is remarkable for the open-air bath to go in with a bathing suit. There is a lounge where you can relax after bathing on the 2nd floor. It is marvelous to view Beppu Bay, Mt. Takasaki and especially the first sunrise of the year as you soak in the bathtub or sit in the lounge.
