Lejeune High School is located aboard Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base and is operated by the Department of Defense Education Activity. Founded in 1944, the originally named Camp Lejeune High School was led by a principal and a Marine Officer, thus requiring certain military expectations to be followed such as grooming standards and locker inspections. The first campus was located on Brewster Boulevard. Then in 1961 it was relocated to Stone street. A new campus was built for the school in 1990. In 1968, Camp Lejeune High School was renamed to Lejeune High School.
