Medical Services
Hospital Care & Surgery at the 375th Medical Group - Scott Air Force Base consists of Chiropractic and Physical Therapy. For more information, please visit the individual health services.
Chiropractic
We are a referral clinic for active duty personnel. Our chiropractor evaluates, diagnoses, and treats active duty members with spinal conditions such as back spasms, back pain, neck spasms, neck pain, sciatica, and disc herniation. The clinic also provides treatment for headaches, shoulder pain, arm pain, hip pain, leg pain, and temporal mandibular joint disorders. Chiropractic care uses adjustments, which are specific manipulations to the joints of the spine, extremities, and soft tissue to restore normal function. Your treatment may include chiropractic adjustments; cox flexion distraction; physiotherapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, ice, diathermy; nutritional counseling; education on exercises, running, and ergonomics; kinesiotaping; gait analysis; instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy; trigger point therapy; and myofascial release.
Physical Therapy
Scott Physical Therapy is both a direct-access and referral clinic meaning patients can self-refer or receive a referral from a medical provider. The clinic only sees active duty personnel. We evaluate and treat neuromusculoskeletal injuries including spine, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and balance issues. Some specialized treatments available are spinal and peripheral joint manipulation and mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, trigger point dry needling, kinesiotaping, temporomandibular joint disorder treatment, and functional rehabilitation. We also provide sports enhancement through gait analysis, functional movement screening, and efficient running training. In addition to providing crutches for pre-operative conditions, post-operative care is also provided. Our post-operative care is designed to promote healing, reduce pain and swelling, and restore joint mobility, flexibility, and strength; focusing on functional and manual physical therapy treatment options. Patients are to wear gym attire to appointments to allow movement and access to the area being treated. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to accomplish paperwork and change clothes.
