Multiservice Inpatient Unit

The Multi-Service Unit at Misawa Air Base, Japan, provides in-patient medical and surgical services for all ages, active duty, dependents, and other beneficiaries. We provide the pre-and post-surgical care for all same day surgery patients, as well as patients admitted for inpatient medical-surgical care needs. Our flight is staffed with active duty nurses and medical technicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our unit averages over 250 surgery patients and over 200 patients admitted annually. The Multi-Service Unit is a unit specialized in providing basic in-patient care. Specialized treatments such as intravenous fluids, antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and laboratory testing, radiology and medication administration are a few of the treatments that are available to our patients while under our care. Our unit consists of 9 beds, two of which are private rooms, one life skills room, a two-bed semi-private room, and a four-bed room utilized for our same day surgery patients.
