We stayed here for a week prior to relocating to Japan. The hotel is super close to Del Mar beach where you can boogie board, surf, or just hang out. The breakfast is awesome! Every day it changes a little bit. So if you are staying a long time, at least the breakfast is awesome! The hotel also has 24/7 hot drinks available, two gas grills, and two outside fire pit tables. The hotel is top-notch, and I can't say enough good things about it.

The only down-side is that it is a great location if you are working/living in the Oceanside area, but not so good if you are living in San Diego. If you just want to get away, and spend some time on the beach, and close to Lego Land, then this is a great place to stay, and much less and more secure, then comparables.
