Relocation Readiness Program

Moving is a part of life for Soldiers, civilian government employees and their Families. The Army Community Service Relocation Readiness Program is here to help with a comprehensive support system, whether it’s your first move or the last of many. We have all kinds of information and resources to help you and your family navigate your next military move.

Your first stop should be your local Army Community Service Family center to meet with a Relocation Readiness Program Manager who can get you started.

JBM-HH Relocation Readiness Services

We provide personalized relocation assistance to incoming and outgoing personnel. The program helps to reduce the stress of moving by offering services such as the Lending Closet, Welcome Packets, multicultural services and sponsorship training. In addition, we have programs designed for waiting Families of deployed sponsors.

Lending Closet Assistance is available for Families PCSing to or from Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in the form of basic household items such as pots and pans, dishes, car seats, high chairs, sleeping mats, etc. Items can be loaned out for up to 30 days at a time. Linens and towels are not provided.

Welcome Packets Information about the installation and surrounding areas is provided to help familiarize personnel with their new assignment. Please ask your sponsor to forward a welcome packet or, get it here.

Start Right The Start Right Newcomer’s Orientation briefing is a 1 day in-processing briefing that is designed to assist personnel PCS to the National Capital Region. The Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Military Personnel Division is the lead agency responsible for hosting Start Right.

Sponsorship ACS provides unit and individual sponsorship training quarterly and upon request. Incoming Soldiers requesting a sponsor should contact their gaining unit. Soldiers may also contact the Relocation Readiness Program for additional information or support.

Multicultural Family Services Army Community Service offers programs and resources that are exclusively designed for foreign-born spouses of military Service Members based on specific needs.
