Shibaseki Onsen is a hot spring in Beepu. It is reported that Emperor Tsubaki was relieved for medical treatment in 895, and Emperor Kyosen in 1044. It is said that “Shiba fossils” were discovered in the Edo period and are now called “Shibaishi”. It is designated as a national recreational hot spring resort and a national health hot spring resort as a hot spring resort with high medical treatment effects, and there is a forest trail that leads to the Miryo Onsen nearby. (* Prohibition of walking on forest trails) In April 1997, clothing was newly opened as “Fureai Yasuragi Onsen”, which was blessed with natural scenery. There are two hot springs with different temperatures, an open-air bath and steamed water, and family hot springs are also available for guests with families.
