Yokosuka Middle School was established in 1998 when Kinnick M/H School split into two schools. The schools shared a campus until 2003 when a new building for the middle school opened.

Yokosuka Middle school was opened in 2003 as a 6 - 8 grade school.

It is located on Yokosuka Navy Base, a 1-hour train ride south from Tokyo and a half-hour train ride from Yokohama. It is located on the coast at the mouth of Tokyo bay. Just outside the base is Yokosuka city which has a population of about 400,000.

The school is within walking distance of The Sullivans Elementary School and Nile C. Kinnick High School. Our students come from an area covering Yokohama, Ikego, Yokosuka city and the surrounding Kanagawa area. The school has 630-670 students.
